BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Dorothy Marie Smith, 77, of Beaver Dam, passed away Friday, Oct. 30, 2026, with her family by her side at her residence. She was born Thursday, March 31, 1949, in Horse Branch, Kentucky, to the late Delmer and Elsie Keown Stewart.
Ms. Smith retired from Ohio County Hospital and was of the Baptist Faith.
Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by four siblings, Wilma Smith, Thelma Givens, Patricia Dixon and Willie Stewart.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, three children, Roger (Becky) Pharris, of Gilstrap, Kentucky, Wayne (Renee) Pharris, of Centertown, Kentucky, and Crystal Embry, of Beaver Dam; 10 grandchildren, Heather (Brandon) Woods, Roger (Taylor) Pharris, Jr., Ransom Pharris, Thomas Pharris, Emmalee Pharris, Payton Pharris, Bobby Embry, Maddalin Lear Maggie Lear and TJ Smith; several great-grandchildren; five siblings, Mary Nabours, of Horse Branch, Kentucky, Pat Stewart, of Fordsville, Kentucky, Sue Dowell, of Cromwell, Kentucky, Clifford Stewart, of Daviess County, Kentucky, and Gilbert Stewart, of McHenry, Kentucky; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Bruce Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Cromwell, Kentucky. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral Thursday at the funeral home.
