HARTFORD, Ky. — Johnny R. Williams, 80, of Hartford, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, with his family by his side at Ohio County Healthcare. He was born Oct. 10, 1946, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Vernon and Carry Ashby Williams.
Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, June Greenwell; brother, Jackie Williams; nieces, Kay Greenwell, Cory Jones, Crystal Cowels and Amy Williams; and nephews, Donnie Greenwell and Harold Allen, Jr.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 59 years, Joan Jones Williams, of Hartford; son, Sam (Angela) Williams, of Beechmont, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Brendan Williams, Connor Williams, Mariah Williams and Shelbey Williams; sisters, Willie (Jim) Vender, of Centertown, Kentucky, Betty Cowles, of Lebanon, Tennessee, and Linda Allen, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; brother, Bobby Williams, of Louisville, Kentucky; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at William L. Danks Funeral home with Bro. Amos Alsman officiating. Burial will follow in Echols Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
