Pickin’ on the Porch @ Bill Monroe Homeplace
Jul 14 @ 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

ROSINE, Ky. — Summer is here and it’s time to start Pickin’ on the Porch at the Bill Monroe Homeplace on Jerusalem Ridge.

Pickin’ on the Porch is your chance to visit the home of Bill Monroe and hear the music he created. Experience the same sights and sounds young Bill Monroe was inspired by as a child who grew into a legend.

Pickin’ on the Porch begins Sunday, June 9, 2019, and will continue every second Sunday of the month through October. Each Pickin’ on the Porch is free to attend and will begin at 2 p.m. and end around 4 p.m.

As for some of the great music you’ll hear this summer, in June you’ll hear Mark Hargis and Josh Johnston, of King’s Highway, playing their special music from the Monroe Brothers. In July you can hear the Rosine Diner’s Club perform.

Bring your instrument for the open mic session and your lawn chair to sit on the front lawn.

There’s no better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than listening to some of the greatest music ever created, played in the setting that shaped the man who created it.
