BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Tomorrow visitors will have fun until the cows come home as it’s Dairy Day at the Beaver Dam Community Farmers Market.
Dairy Day at the Market means if you’re a milk and dairy fan, from 8 a.m.-12 p.m., this is your day to come see all the great vendors set up at the Farmers Market Pavilion.
In honor of Dairy Day, the Kentucky Dairy Development Council will be on hand with tons of goodies for the kids. Beaver Dam Bess, the fabulous milking cow, will also be at the Farmers Market. Come out and try your hand at milking.
For ice cream fans, Chaney’s Dairy will have its ice cream truck at the Farmers Market all day. Plus, the first 100 scoops of ice cream are free! Speaking of food, Matthew “Chews” Sumner will be making breakfast for market goers.
Also at the market this Saturday, musician Lacy Jean will play from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Alpha Delta Kappa will have information about Alzheimer’s Disease and the Ohio County Cooperative Extension Office will be among the vendors.
Your favorite vendors will be at the market selling delicious produce and meat, as well as beautiful art and crafts. Word going around the interwebs is a new vendor will be selling pork at the market this Saturday.
Everyone is invited to come out, get some ice cream and have some fun at the Beaver Dam Community Farmers Market.

HARTFORD, Ky. — Adults and children alike are making preparations for next week’s 11th Annual Longest Day of Play. The LDoP will be at its usual location, the Ohio County Park this Tuesday, June 26. Children and adults will play from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. during 2018’s longest day of the year, meaning the day with the longest amount of sunlight.
LDoP is the celebration of the yearly Summer Solstice which typically falls during the third week of June. The first Longest Day of was held Thursday, June 21, 2007,
This year’s LDoP, like all years, will have tons of games and prizes. A free picnic supper will also be provided for those who come out to play. Two of the new games added to the festivities this year are GaGa Ball and Backyard Slingshot.
