David was a member of McHenry Baptist Church and retired from Perdue where he served as a security officer. He was an avid UK fan. He spent many years as a baseball umpire. Most people knew him as Bones instead of David.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Moore, and brother, Lee James.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Susan James; son, Trampas (Sally) James; grandchildren, Ashley (Sam) Greer, Jalyn Moore, Alexis James, Brianna (Austin) Carden and Xavier James; great-grandchild, M.J. Greer; and brother, Tommy James.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, in the fellowship hall at McHenry Baptist Church. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideons.
