PHILPOT, Ky. — Regina Faye Hite, 83, of Philpot, passed away on Feb. 20, 2024, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Regina was born in Ohio County, Kentucky, on July 22, 1940, to the late Onal and Stacy Nash Westerfield.

Regina completed her education at Hartford High School before starting a career at General Electric. There, she worked in various capacities, including the tube and motor plants, and served as a trainer and union representative until she retired. During her time at General Electric, she also worked as a nurse’s aide at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Regina was a devoted member of Owensboro Church of Christ.

Regina was known for her profound love for horses, possessing several and taking great joy in showcasing them. Her enthusiasm extended to being an avid fan of Kentucky Basketball and NASCAR. Known to her acquaintances as someone brimming with energy. Regina exhibited an exceptional work ethic and a natural ability to connect with people. She will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Hite.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Dwayne Hite (Gaynell), Jeff Hite, and Glenn Hite (Karen); grandchildren, Janece Parsons (Eddie), Nick Hite, Dakota Hite, Shelby Hite, Hunter Hite, Dustin Hite, Zachary Hite, and Jordan Hite; many loving great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Curtis Westerfield; and long time friend, Paula Sapp.

The funeral for Regina Hite will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery.
