Pascal ‘Eugene’ McIntyre

DRAKESBORO, Ky. — Pascal “Eugene” McIntyre, 85, of Drakesboro, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2024, with his family by his side under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born March 26, 1938, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Chester McIntyre and Mary Ezell McIntyre.

Mr. McIntyre retired from Peabody Coal Company and was a dedicated member of New Assembly Church in Hartford, Kentucky. He proudly served in the United States Navy.

Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings, Hazel Benson, Virginia Hurt, Jerry McIntyre, Charles McIntyre, Bo McIntyre, Bill McIntyre, and Eddie McIntyre.

Mr. McIntyre leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 34 years, Barbara Bentley McIntyre, of Drakesboro; three children, Michael Eugene McIntyre, of Centertown, Kentucky, Angela McIntyre, of Centertown, and Sondra (Scott) Slaton, of Owensboro, Kentucky; two stepsons, Mark (Heather) Mason, of Drakesboro, and Dr. Nick Mason, of Rogersville, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren, Bliss (Jeremiah) Shepherd, Elijah McIntyre, Jeremiah Allen, Jacob Allen, Ashley (Jarrod) Decker, Nicholas Felix, Stephanie (Chad) Ray, Alan (Jessica) Slaton, Polly Green, Clayton Carden, and Amanda Mason; several great-grandchildren; four siblings, Conrad McIntyre, of Owensboro, Danny (Pat) McIntyre, of Harleyville, South Carolina, Bobby (Sherry) McIntyre, of Owensboro, and Athelene (Hillard) Farris, of Echols, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Lealin Geary officiating. Burial will follow in Echols Cemetery in Echols, Kentucky with full military honors by Ohio County Honor Guard. Friends may visit with Mr. McIntyre’s family from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
