New substance abuse alliance encouraging citizens of Ohio County to take drug endangered children survey

In Community, Local, News by OC Monitor Staff

OWENSBORO, Ky. — A new alliance is being established in Kentucky serving the children and families in the counties of Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, Union, and Webster.

Children are often the first affected but can be the last recognized as being affected by substance misuse. The National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children (National DEC) develops coordinated, nationwide efforts to address legal or illegal substance misuse affecting children and families and offers help, hope, and support. The services provided by DEC Alliance professionals help children, family members and those in substance misuse. The goal is to break generational cycles of substance misuse, reduce trauma and improve community health and well-being.

We are asking you to take this brief survey to help the Western Kentucky Drug Endangered Children Alliance gather data to help us start planning the best response to address the needs of drug endangered children and other concerns within our community. Please forward this email/survey link to your listservs as we would like responses from representatives of the entire community.

Upon completing the survey, your name will be entered into a drawing for a $25 Amazon gift card. We will select five random winners on Feb. 22. Winners will be contacted via email to coordinate receiving their gift card.

After completing the survey you may be interested in some free training offered by the National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children (National DEC).
