**UPDATE** Partial lane closures on W. 1st St. in Ohio County begins Monday, April 3

**UPDATE** MADISONVILLE, Ky. — The start date for the partial lane closures on W. 1st St. has been pushed back until April 3. The closures were originally supposed to start March 20. The start date change has been added to the original release.

MADISONVILLE, Ky. — A contractor will begin work on a force main sewer relocation at the intersection of Main St. (U.S. 62/U.S. 231) and First St. (US 62) in Beaver Dam. The work will begin Monday, April 3.

This partial road closure of W. First St. will be limited to seven consecutive calendar days while crews relocate the 18” force main utility pipes.

  • The westbound lane of W. 1st St., (U.S. 62) will remain open.
  • The eastbound lane of W. 1st St., (U.S. 62) will be closed.
  • All of E. First St. will be closed at the N. Main St. (U.S. 62/U.S. 231) intersection.
  • U.S. 62 (N. Main St.) will remain open during this partial closure.

Oversized vehicles will encounter 10-foot lanes through this work zone. Westbound trucks from Central City are asked to use the Western Kentucky Parkway.  Eastbound trucks from Central City are asked to use the Western Kentucky Parkway.

Some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work. Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and inspection personnel are along the roadway near live traffic.

The project is expected to be completed this summer.
