HARTFORD, Ky. — Gary Michael Conlan, 70, of Hartford, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022, at his residence under the care of Hospice of Ohio County. He was born on Sept. 3, 1952, in Frankfort, Kentucky, to the late Dr. James Conlan and Dr. Patricia Nichols Kennedy.
Gary graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College with a bachelor’s degree. After graduation, Gary made a career in hospitality, working as a manager for Ramada Inn Hotels. When he was not serving, Gary was enjoying an episode of his favorite show, Moonshiners. He also enjoyed watching tennis, especially Wimbledon each year. His wife, Patricia, and he would travel to West Baden Resort and visit the Wilstem Elephant Encounter. Layla was his favorite, and not just because he has a granddaughter with the same name. Gary always loved how Layla treated Patricia, wrapping her trunk around her, for she remembered her always. Gary also loved telling jokes.
Aside from his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his son, Steven Wiseman.
Those left to honor Gary’s memory are his wife, Patricia Pat Conlan; daughter, Shawna (David) Newton, Kristina (Tony) Chambers, Paula Wiseman, and Jessica Wiseman; a son, Paul (Jasmine) Wiseman Jr.; 28 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a brother, Dr. James “Jimmy” Conlan; and his favorite dog daughter, Tybee.
