Steven ‘Allen’ Scearse

CROMWELL, Ky. — Steven “Allen” Scearse, 48, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, at his home. Allen was born July 19, 1974, to Earl T. Scearse and Earlene Broughton Scearse in Harlan County, Kentucky.

He was an over-the-road truck driver. Allen spent his free time dirt track racing, woodworking, and spending time with friends and family.

Allen was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frank Scearse and Arlina Scearse; maternal grandfather, Earl Broughton; an infant brother, Earl Franklin Scearse.

He is survived by his spouse Amy Scearse, of Cromwell; parents, Earl T. Scearse and Earlene Rouse, of Harlan, Kentucky; stepmother, Debbie Jones; grandmother, Lynette “Nette” Broughton, of Harlan; two brothers, Earl T. Scearse II (Melissa), of Hartford, Kentucky, and Robert (Joyce) Scearse, of San Antonio, Texas; sisters, Heather (Nathan) Hunnicutt, of Indy, Indiana, Tracy Scearse, of Indy, Indiana, and Carol Ann Scearse, of Harlan.

Allen had several children, Meiranda (Jeremy) Scearse, of Glasgow, Kentucky, Kaylie Scearse, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, Jonathon Warren, of Cromwell, Jordan Warren, of Ocala, Florida, Hannah (Jake) West, of Morgantown, Kentucky; “adopted” son, Zach (Kasosha) West, of Cromwell; grandchildren, Aliyah and Shyanne Zook, Annistyn and Ellis West, and Keenan and Carson West; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be a memorial service 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
