HARTFORD, Ky. — Lynn Leach Himes, 78, died peacefully at his home after a brief illness on Aug. 28, 2021. He was born March 26, 1943, to the late Oriville and Joyce “Dottie” Leach Himes.

Lynn served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He has been married to his wife, Elaine, for 31 years as of Aug. 18. Lynn was a member of the VFW Post 5766, AmVets Post 117, and the American Legion. He loved spending time with his family, and spending time in his garage doing woodwork and inventing things.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Himes; two nephews, Dennis Paul, and Christopher Wayne, and a sister-in-law, Pat.

He leaves behind his wife, Elaine; three sons, Chris Himes and wife, Sabine; Barry Himes and wife, Michelle, and Billy Christian and wife, Angie; one daughter, Tracy Fowler; 11 grandchildren, Logan Himes (Kene), Sara Spingler (Rob), Faith Storm, Dakota Himes, Kayli Himes (Cody), Julie Himes, Nicholas Christian (Jade), Nicholas Himes, Tori Christian (Timmy), Blaine Christian (Brooklyn), Mylee Himes; and four great-grandchildren, Lilly Storm, Jude Himes, Kennedy Himes, and Emmi Murphy; two brothers, Roger Himes, of Hartford, and George Himes and wife, Pam, of Owensboro, Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no formal services but a Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
