HORSE BRANCH, Ky. — Jerry Lee Embry, of Horse Branch, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018.

Over the years, Jerry provided for his family by working as a mechanic for the Ohio County Road Dept. and several years as a construction worker and bulldozer operator. He deeply enjoyed woodworking and building things with his hands. He was always making things for his children and home. An avid outdoorsman, he found the most pleasure in coon hunting and fishing. He always had stories of the adventures he had to share with anyone who would listen.

Jerry was more than just a father/grandfather and husband, he was their protector, friend, provider and hero. He was always there to comfort his children or celebrate their victories big and small. Jerry’s love was boundless and can still be felt by those he loved most.

As he gained his wings, he was greeted by his parents, William LeAnder and Dona Evone (Smith) Embry; his sister, Jeanetta Lynn; his grandparents, John William and Myrtle Embry and Ernest and Jeanetta Smith also joined in his homecoming celebration.

Jerry was a loving devoted husband to his wife of 38 years, Lisa. They fell in love at an early age and shared a love that death could never end. His love for his children, Anthony (Crystal) and Melissa (Chris), was just as strong. He dedicated his life to enriching theirs. His grandchildren, Nolan Anthony and Maggie Grace brought him such joy. Jerry lovingly called them his “Homer and Magpie.” He loved his other grandbabies, Little E and Gabe West as well as Aria Hawks with all his heart.

Friends and family can pay their respects Saturday, Dec. 15, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 16, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Caneyville Memorial Chapel. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday with Bro. Ricky Dockery and Bro. Bruce Lindsay officiating. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made the Jerry Embry Memorial Fund at Caneyville Memorial Chapel.

Caneyville Memorial Chapel is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Embry.
