BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Martha Sue Evans Plummer, 70, of Beaver Dam, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, at her residence. She was born Feb. 19, 1948, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late William Jessie Evans and Lorena Bishop Evans.

Mrs. Plummer was a member of McHenry Baptist Church for nearly 40 years. During that time, she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, as well as supported her husband, Richie, who served as music director.

Martha served the community for many years, having worked at Hartford Bank and Ohio County Federal Savings and Loan which eventually became First Kentucky Bank, from which she retired in 2013.

She was known and loved by many who could count on her ever-present loving smile, patience, and willingness to help anyone in anyway possible.

Richie and Martha loved to create special times and memories at Christmas. One of the things they did was to have Santa there to help out by hiding one of the presents for the boys to find with special clues. They also liked to decorate the house with lights just to bring some happiness to those around.

Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Richard “Richie” Plummer; brother, Eddie Dean Evans; and sister-in-law, Carol Jean Sutton Evans.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons, Christopher Lee Plummer and Brent Alan Plummer, both of Beaver Dam; one brother, Charles William Evans, of Deputy, Indiana; brother-in-law, Donnie Plummer and his wife, Claudia, of McHenry, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Linda Evans, of Beaver Dam, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Brent Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Friends may visit with Mrs. Plummer’s family Saturday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
