MORGANTOWN, Ky. — William Reathel Farris, 88, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at his residence. Reathel was born Oct. 17, 1929, in Arnold, Kentucky, in Ohio County, to the late John Calvin and Elsa Mae Burden Farris.

He was a member of Aberdeen Missionary Baptist Church and attended Belmont General Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer and truck driver, was an honest God-fearing man, and was true to his word.

He loved his family, proud of his grandchildren and was a hard-working man. Loved going to auctions and sitting and talking with friends and family at Aberdeen Grocery and the round table at Drakes Farm Service.

William Reathel Farris is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Thelma Flener Farris, of Morgantown; one daughter, Stephanie Lee and husband, Jerry, of Morgantown; two sons, Steve Farris and wife, Lisa, of Beechmont, Kentucky, and Stan Farris and wife, Tonya, of Morgantown; six grandchildren, Trapper and Tanner Farris, of Morgantown, Jaccob Lee and wife, Tessa, of Morgantown, Justin Abell, of Morgantown, Quentin Farris, of Alvaton, Kentucky, and Cody Farris and wife, Lindsay, of Madison, Tennessee; five stepgrandchildren, Amy Flener and husband, Arlen, of Morgantown, Abby Southerland and husband, Justin, of Morgantown, April Lee, of Morgantown, Adam Lee and wife, Lisa, of Morgantown, and Ben Aronld and wife, Sarah, of Bowling Green, Kentucky; four great-grandchildren, Adeline Farris, Ryman Lee, Hudson Abell, Caden Farris, and Titus William Lee on the way; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren and one on the way; two brothers, Ed Farris, from Cromwell, Kentucky, and Hillard Farris, of Aberdeen, Kentucky; one sister, Jean Guffy, of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Tuesday, April 17, at 11 a.m. with Bro. Gary Embry, Bro. Sonny Mull, Bro. T J Howard and Bro. Gene Garner officiating. Burial will be in the Aberdeen Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday April 16, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday 8 a.m. until funeral time at 11 a.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
