ECHOLS, Ky. — Richard Dale “Richie” Sampson, 43 of Echols, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 22, 2018, in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. He was born Nov. 2, 1974, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to Mike and Sue Sampson.
Richie was a member of Pond Run Baptist Church, a master electrician with IBEW Local #1701 and he worked in maintenance at Swedish Match in Owensboro. He was very much an outdoorsman; he enjoyed kayaking, hiking, and hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, A.L. “Dick” and Naomi Burden Thomas, and his paternal grandparents, George Rollie and Gladys Mae Brown Sampson.
Survivors include his daughter, Ally Sampson, of Beaver Dam; his parents, Mike and Sue Sampson, of Sturgis, Kentucky; and two brothers, Todd (Tammy) Sampson, of Sturgis, and T.K. Sampson, of Evansville, Indiana.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 26, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Jerry D. Moore, II officiating. Burial will follow in Echols Cemetery. Friends may visit with Mr. Sampson’s family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
