VALPARAISO, Ind. — Nathan Lee Ashby, 80, of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, at VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso. He was born March 9, 1937, in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, to the late Darrell E. Ashby and Carrie Thelma Maddox Ashby.
Mr Ashby retired from LTV Steel after 41 years of service and served in the United States Navy during Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Survivors include one nephew, Steven Wayne Ashby, and longtime friends, Roe and Norma Phelps, of Valparaiso.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with full military honors by Ohio County Honor Guard.
William L. Danks Funeral Home has been entrusted with Mr. Ashby’s arrangements.
