BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Mary Evelyn Phelps, 86, of Beaver Dam, passed away Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, at Ohio County Hospital. She was born May 30, 1931, in Cool Springs, Kentucky, to the late Orville and Maude Shepherd Hines.
Mrs. Phelps was a homemaker and member of Cool Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, H.V. Phelps; one brother, Theron Hines; and two sisters, Dorothy Mae Royal and Alma Jewell Phelps.
Survivors include two sons, Greg Phelps, of White Plains, Kentucky, and Alan (Peggy) Phelps, of Lusby, Maryland; one granddaughter, Katrina Marie (Drew) Sims, of Knoxville, Tennessee; three grandsons, Donald Allen, of Lusby, Maryland, Christopher Allen and Brian (Christina) both, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and numerous nephews and nieces .
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Jerry Alexander and Rev. Gary Hines officiating. Burial will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Mrs. Phelps family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral Thursday at the funeral home.
