OWENSBORO, Ky. — Mary Louise Greenwell, 80, of Owensboro, passed away at her home on Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born Feb. 24, 1937, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Frank Edward and Mary Frances Tanner Lanham.
Mrs. Greenwell was a member of Parrish Avenue Church of Christ and enjoyed collecting dolls, going to yard sales and mission trips to Haiti.
She also is preceded in death by a son, Carl Wayne Rice Sr.
Surviving are her children, Ricky “Charlie” Rice (Phyllis), of Utica, Kentucky, Willard Harold Greenwell Jr., and Ronnie Rice, both of Owensboro; her ex-husband, William Greenwell; nine grandchildren, Nathan Rice, Frankie Greenwell, Brandon Greenwell, Carl Wayne Rice Jr., Ronnie Rice Jr., Amanda Newton, Leslie Karney, Kandace Rice and Patrick Rice; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Geraldine Jones (Dan) and Margaret Brooks (Billy).
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory with burial to follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
