OWENSBORO, Ky. — Claude Edward Horn, 71, of Owensboro, died Aug. 3, 2017, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born Jan. 31, 1946, in Wilson County, Tennessee, to the late Bill and Myrtle Thompson Horn.

He retired as a bartender for the American Legion. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of Newton Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Bobby Horn, Louise Martin, Billy Jean Roach, Lelia Sanders, Jim Horn, and Virginia Horn.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Chris Muffett, Brandy Tidwell (Dwayne), and Nicole Ruby (Christian), all of Owensboro; sisters, Ara Lee Christian, of Lebanon, Tennessee, and Debbie Millay, of Owensboro; brothers, Charley Horn, of Owensboro, and Kenneth Horn, of Fordsville, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and great-great-nieces and -nephews.

Private services will be held at a later date. James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements.
