BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Robert Conrad Burgess, 89, of Beaver Dam, Ky., passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Ohio County Hospital with his family by his side. He was born Aug. 30, 1927, in Prentiss, Ky., to the late Robert Clifton Burgess and Vera Elliott Ayers.
Mr. Burgess was a retired electrician and member of IBEW Local 481. He was also a member of Slaty Creek Baptist Church and served in the United States Army.
Mr. Burgess was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 64 years, Juanita Smith Burgess; one grandson, Warren Eytchison; and an infant brother.
Survivors include one son, Stephen (Katy) Burgess, of Beaver Dam; one daughter, Conita Etchison, of New Port Richey, Fla; four grandchildren, Michael Etchison, Clayton (Shelby) Etchison, Mary (Jeff) Upchurch, and Donna Vincent; eight great-grandchildren, Lily Ana Anita Etchison, Jan (Tina) Liwoch, Ethan Liwoch, Emily Hayes, Nathaniel Tucker, Alexus Tucker, Christopher Vincent Jr., and Vanessa Vincent; four great-great-grandchildren; and two cousins, Nancy Roberson, of Beaver Dam, and Jimmy Southard, of Beaver Dam.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 11, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Wendell Sandefur officiating. Burial will follow in Slaty Creek Cemetery. Friends may visit Mr. Burgess’ family from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Sunday at the funeral home.
