JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — Joyce Daniel Coleman, 89, of Jeffersonville, passed away June 3, 2017. She was born Jan. 17, 1928, in McHenry, Ky., to Arvil Ray and Alma (Porter) Daniel.

An avid sports fan, Joyce was particularly fond of Kentucky basketball. She loved playing bridge and music. This love for music lead her to be a member of her church and community choirs.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, James V. Coleman Jr., and Maxwell Coleman; and her son, James V. Coleman III.

Her survivors include a brother, Jack Daniel (Rowena); two daughters, Johan Hagaman (Alvin), of Nashville, Tenn., and Kimberly Burns (Fred), of Lanesville, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Brett Coleman (BJ), Cali Kent (Klinie), Aaron Hagaman, Brooke Hagaman, Elizabeth Kirschenbaum (Mike), Sarah Warman (Bryan), and Matthew Burns (Elizabeth); and five great-grandchildren, Megan, Braden, Kody, Carson, and Cassidy.

Graveside services will be held at the Centertown Cemetery in Centertown, Ky., on Saturday, June 17, at 1 p.m.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take form in donations to the American Cancer Society at 1640 Lyndon Farm Ct #104, Louisville, KY 40223.
