BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Flora Maddox Sailing, 95, of Beaver Dam, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 11, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born July 5, 1921, in Ohio County, Ky., to the late Estil Thomas Maddox and Leona Howard Maddox Graves.

Mrs. Sailing was a member of Independence Baptist Church in McHenry, Ky.

Mrs. Sailing was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Gilbert Sailing; three children, Peggy Letizia, Donnie Sailing and Ronnie Sailing; two grandchildren, Greg Clark and Tommy Sailing; and nine siblings.

Survivors include eight children, Alma Jean Lewis, of McHenry, Carol (Roger) Schroader, of Horse Branch, Ky., Lois (Larry) Minton, of McHenry, Mary Evelyn Shepherd, of Beaver Dam, Calvin Ray (Debbie) Sailing, of Hartford, Ky., Bonnie (Jack) Kasee, of Rockport, Ky., Sheila Robin Black, of Beaver Dam, and Jack (Carla) Sailing, of Beaver Dam; two daughters-in-law, Mary Sailing and Bonnie Sailing; 44 grandchildren; 105 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 14, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Chris Lewis and Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Echols Cemetery. Friends may visit with Mrs. Sailing’s family from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
