CecilChinnCecil W. Chinn, 93, of Owensboro, Ky., died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Kindred Transitional Care-Hillcrest. He was born Jan. 6, 1921, in Ohio County, Ky., to the late Otis and Lillie Chinn.

He retired from McEuen Furniture and was formerly employed by Modern Furniture Store and Cyril’s Furniture. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, was of the Baptist faith and was a member of TPA.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Oida Sheffield, Mary Porter, Grace Rowe and Irene Hall.

He is survived by a brother, J.B. Chinn of McHenry, Ky.; a sister, Betty Ferguson of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial is in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sorgho, Ky. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, Tenn. 38101 or to the donor’s favorite charity.
