LEXINGTON, Ky. — Shane Corey Burden, 50, of Lexington, passed away peacefully on Sept. 3, 2026. Born on Nov. 17, 1975, in Owensboro, Kentucky, Shane was the son of John and Debbie Burden.
Shane attended the University of Kentucky where he met the love of his life, Emily. Together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and and support for their daughter Reese.
Shane spent his successful career with United Rentals. Known as “Sugar” to his colleagues, he was always there to lend advice or a helping hand. Shane truly enjoyed his work and was proud of those who worked along side him.
Outside of his family, Shane’s biggest passion was his beloved Kentucky Wildcats! He was a devout UK football fan his whole life and had unwavering support for his CATS! He will always be remembered for welcoming friends to amazing tailgates and that booming, cheering voice during football games.
Shane is survived by his wife, Emily and daughter, Reese; his parents John and Debbie Burden; brother Derek (Lindsay); and his mother- and father-in-law, Larry and Jamie Crouch. Special friends include Der Clurb, Corey Neimier, Richard Graviss, and Alex Cowdrey; his brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha, and many others.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. located at The K House located 1398 Sports Center Drive, Lexington. A brief service will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a time for fellowship and celebration of a life well lived.
