HARTFORD, Ky. – Wanda M. Watson, 91, of Hartford passed away peacefully on Aug. 13, 2026, at Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. She was born in Olaton, Kentucky, on Aug. 20, 1934, to the late Shelby and Linnie Wright Myers.

Wanda was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and also attended Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She worked at G.E. in Owensboro, as a bookkeeper for Rough River Water System, as Treasurer for Fairview Baptist Church for 30 years, as well as retiring from the U.S. Postal Service as the Dundee Postmaster.

She loved to read, enjoyed listening to southern gospel music, vacationing in Cherokee, North Carolina, and going to Singing in the Smokies.

Most of all, she loved cooking and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Kenneth R. Watson. She was the last remaining sibling of eight, Raymond, Everette, Delbert and James Eddie Myers, Bea Clem, Bonnie French and Anna Marian Stewart.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Darla (Robert) Williams, of Hartford; granddaughter, Josie (Kyle) Hall, of Beaver Dam; grandson, Zach (Tia) Williams, of Owensboro, Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Greeley Raye Hall and “soon-to-be” Ezra James Hall; “sister”, Vicki Hawes, of Hartford; sister-in-law, Kathy Myers, of Philpot, Kentucky; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bros. David Embry and Kyle Hall presiding. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Olaton.
