
He retired from Millwright local 1693, where he spent most of his career as a supervisor for Siemens. He had a passion for building and working with his hands whether it was tackling a new project, repairing something, or creating something from the ground up. He took great pride in his craftsmanship. He was always happiest when he was building, fixing or finding a way to make things better. All skills that he taught his children.
Aside from his father he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Deskins, and brother, Barrett Deskins.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 43 years, Linda Petersen Deskins, of Cromwell; three children, Kenneth (Cindy) Deskins, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Stacy Deskins (Nicole McGuire) and Jason Deskins (Amber Daugherty) both of Cromwell; three grandchildren, Isabella, Jasper and Gabriella; siblings, Brenda (Harold) Hanshaw, Billy Deskins, Belinda Deskins, all of West Union, Ohio, Bennice (Leon) Sims, of Peebles, Ohio, Blaine (Marion) Deskins, of West Union, and Tim Deskins, of Cromwell; as well as several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Pastor Eric Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford, Kentucky. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
