LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a Flood Warning for Rough River in Dundee. The Flood Warning will be in effect until 1:39 a.m. on Monday, June 29.

According to the NWS, heavy rain over the last couple of days will cause the river to rise.

At 2:00 PM CDT Saturday, the stage was 22.0 feet; the bankfull stage is 23.0 feet, and the flood stage is at 25 feet.

The river is expected to rise above flood stage this evening to a crest of 26.5 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow evening. The predicted crest compares to a previous crest of 26.5 feet on May 9, 2009.

At 25.0 feet, county roads between Dundee and Narrows flood. At 26.0 feet, county roads near Sunnydale flood. At 27.0 feet, KY 919 floods at Underwood and Clifty Huff Roads near Narrows. At 28.0 feet, trailer courts in Hartford flood.

In cases of all floods, turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet, and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim, or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters, stop, turn around, and go another way.
