Marty Shephard
My name is Marty Shephard, and I am running for State Representative for the 14th District. I am a lifelong resident of Ohio County and have proudly served this community for over 25 years as a business owner.
My wife, Cortney, and I have been married for 31 years. She has dedicated 25 years to public education as a teacher, and together we have built our life rooted in faith, family, and service to this community. We raised our three children here, and now our three grandchildren are being raised here as well, walking the same halls our children did years ago.
Through owning and operating my business, I have developed strong leadership, financial management, and negotiation skills. I understand what it takes to meet a payroll, balance a budget, and make tough decisions. I have built relationships across our community, worked with people from all walks of life, and earned a reputation for being dependable, honest, and approachable. I have always made myself accessible to the people I serve, and I will continue that same commitment at the state level.
If elected, my goals include bringing new industry to the 14th District to create jobs and increase tax revenue for much-needed community projects. I will be a strong voice for our veterans, senior citizens, and farmers, who are the backbone of our community. I also want to improve education by placing a greater emphasis on vocational and technical training, helping prepare our youth for well-paying jobs right here at home.
I am ready to take my experience, work ethic, and commitment to service to Frankfort and fight for the people of the 14th District.
