Meet the Candidates: Arthur D. Leach, incumbent Republican candidate for Ohio County PVA

In Opinion by OC Monitor Staff

Arthur D. Leach and family

My name is Arthur Leach and I am your current Ohio County PVA.

I am a proud member of the Republican Party and a graduate of Western Kentucky University. My wife Kayla, or “Mrs. Leach” to many, is a school teacher at Wayland Elementary and we have two children (Flint and Boone), who our world revolves around. I was raised by my father, Steve Leach and my mother, Sue Ellen Holladay. I could not have asked for better parents.

I am so grateful and humbled to be running unopposed this term. I was appointed in October of 2022 to serve as your PVA and re-elected that following December. Before then, I was a deputy under the past administration for several years. It is safe to say that I understand the PVA world and what it takes to run this office.

Since taking this position, I have had a vision and I have not looked back. Knowing the task at hand, I – along with my staff – have made every stride possible to be transparent and fair to the citizens of Ohio County. I believe that is key when dealing with the state of the current housing market and the inevitability of rising assessments. While the responsibilities of this position can be strenuous and stressful at times, it is my duty, and I will always do it as fairly and equitably as possible.

This term has been an interesting one to say the least, and I want to thank everyone for their support, understanding, and kindness through my first full term as your Ohio County PVA. I wear this title with honor, and I will continue to do so for as long as I am able to serve. I could do nothing in this job without the support of my family and my staff. They mean the world to me.

Due to not having an opponent, I will not be on the primary ballot but will be on the general ballot. Your support means more than you know. Thanks again, Ohio County!
