BEAVER DAM, Ky. – Caroline Jean Castlen Brown, 77, of Beaver Dam, passed away April 23, 2026, at Ohio County Hospital. She was born in Owensboro on Jan. 10, 1949, to the late William Robert and Mary Cecelia “Wink” Castlen.
Caroline was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She took great care in her landscaping and could ride the bushhog as well as anyone.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Donald Castlen.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 47 years, Ronal Edward Brown; her children, Kimberly (Daniel) Smiley and Robert (Patricia) Brown; grandchildren, Laura Smiley, Emily Smiley, Makenzie Brown, Karlee Brown and Ian Brown; siblings, Earl (Peggy) Castlen, Mary Ann (John) McKinney, Sherill (Julie) Castlen, Timothy (Debbie) Castlen; sisters-in-law, Sandy Castlen and Linda Ford; mother-in-law, Geneva Brown; along with several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday, April 27, at 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Julio Barrera presiding. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, April 26, 2026 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., with prayers at 3:30 p.m., at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Owensboro, Kentucky.
