OC Monitor asks 2026 Primary Election candidates to address readers

In Local, News, Opinion by OC Monitor Staff

OHIO COUNTY, Ky. — The May 19 Primary Election is just weeks away, and the Ohio County Monitor wants to help you get to know your candidates before casting your vote.

We reached out to all the candidates, asking them to submit an article about themselves. The article would explain why they were running for office and why Ohio County should vote for them. Over the next few weeks, we will post these Meet the Candidate articles to better educate you about your candidates.

For those who have not submitted a Meet the Candidates article, it is up to the candidate if they want to participate or not, but the Ohio County Monitor would hope each candidate would want to reach out to the voters. We also hope the voters will take time to read the profiles and better educate themselves on their candidates.

Readers will find all the “Meet the Candidates” articles in the Opinion section in the Main Menu of ocmonitor.com. The candidate profiles will be found in the Opinion section, as each article can be viewed as an op-ed or a letter to the editor.

We tried to contact each candidate, but in some cases, we may not have been able to reach them. Because of this, we want to publicly invite all candidates to submit an article and a photo.

Email us at news@ocmonitor.com with your article in the body of the email or a Word document format. Photos should be sent in JPG format. Please write “Candidate Profile” in the subject area. Articles must be received no later than May 15, 2026.

There are no restrictions on the length of the article, but we recommend around 300 to 400 words. This article cannot be used to attack other candidates. We also request that the article be original and not one that has already been published. The candidates’ articles will be posted on the Ohio County Monitor in the order they are received.
