Well, I did it… On April 14, 2026, while running the roads on my motorcycle, feeling the wind, smelling the earth and singing a song, I left this world.
I am preceded in death by my paternal grandparents, Harold Slaton, and Shirley Herrin, and maternal grandparents, Jim and Judy Cunningham Trainer and Roger Bealmear.
I have left behind my dad, Donald Slaton (Becca Holder), and my mom, Amy Jo (Trevor) Beach; my little brother, Dillon Slaton; my beautiful life partner of 20 years (as I’m running my hand through her hair and kiss her forehead), Andrea Tichenor; my boys, who are my heart, Donavin Kent Slaton and Deegan Clifton Koe Slaton; several nieces and nephews who knew me as Uncle D, Blake (Gabbie) Ballard, Drew (Lily) Tichenor, Caleb Tichenor, Kynslie Tichenor, Lexie Tichenor, Mallory Worth and Matthew Worth; and great-nephew, Tabor Ballard.
I worked hard, and I played even harder. You will hear me in a song singing along, you will feel me when the wind blows. Laugh hard, love even harder and crank the music, because you only live once.
A celebration of my life will be held on Friday, April 24, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at 3992 St. Rt. 85 E., Centertown, KY 42328. Bring a memory, a dish and a song, along with a chair. To honor my memory, do something for someone in my name. There will also be a celebration of life held at a later date for my family and friends who love me in the Union County area (that date is to be determined).
I am gone, but in your heart, I’ll remain forever. – Deavory Kent Slaton.
