Dorothy’s journey through life was marked by a profound love for her family and a dedication to her work. On June 4, 1950, she united in marriage with her lifelong companion, Earl Russell. Together, they nurtured two beautiful daughters, Edna Earle Russell and Teddy Lou Russell, who have made their mother immensely proud throughout the years. Dorothy was more than a cherished mother; she was a significant figure in the Hartford community. She worked as a bank teller for several local banks and even traversed the roads in the beloved library bookmobile, sharing her passion for reading with countless children and adults alike. Her later years as a clerk for the Ohio County Clerk’s office allowed her to continue serving her community, leaving a lasting legacy of kindness and diligence.
Dorothy is survived by her beloved daughters, Edna Earle and Teddy Lou “TL”; as well as her sister-in-law, Pat Russell; and numerous nieces and nephews who will carry her spirit forward in their hearts.
Friends and family will have the opportunity to pay their respects on Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Hartford Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in Oakwood Cemetery, where we will celebrate Dorothy’s remarkable life and reflect on the many memories shared. In this time of remembrance, we invite all who knew her to come together in love, compassion, and reflection.
Condolences can be left for the family at www.hartfordfh.com.
Dorothy’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
