HARTFORD, Ky. — Thomas Leroy Eden, 82, of Hartford, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 15, 2026, at Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Pride, Kentucky, on March 29, 1943, to the late Roy Veston and Violet Hall Eden.

Tom was a member of Hartford Second Baptist Church. He retired from Estes Express as a freight coordinator and Kentucky State Highway Department. He was a former coal miner, past president of the UMWA and member of the Teamsters Union.

Tom had a love for antique cars and he enjoyed hanging out at Hardee’s with coffee friends. He was a skilled carpenter and loved playing the guitar.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Rita Annis Eden; son, Mark (Carla) Eden; niece, Amy Jane (Jim) Jared; and nephews, Robert “Bob” (Jessica) Annis and Benjamin Annis.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, at New Assembly Church in Hartford with Bro. Lealin Geary presiding. Friends may visit with the family from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, and again on Wednesday from 12 p.m. until the time of service at New Assembly Church.

A private family burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford.
