BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Carol Nadine Ward, 55, of Beaver Dam, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on Sept. 1, 1970, to Sadie Maritta Taylor in Hartford, Kentucky.

Nadine started a family at an early age and spent her life caring for others. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, spending time with family, cooking for a crowd, and her annual trips to Tennessee and Pennsylvania for family reunions. She was her children and grandchildren’s biggest fan in the stands at ball games.

Nadine married her first love, Michael Duncan on May 31, 1986, in Grayson County, Kentucky. Nadine and Mike went on to have three children, Jevetta, Michael, and Lena. Nadine found true love again when she met Robert Ward. After the death of her first husband, Nadine went on to marry Robert Ward on Nov. 3, 2007, in Ohio County, Kentucky. The marriage added new people to her family to love.

Nadine was a caregiver. She spent her time caring for others. Despite the challenges life brought her way, Nadine never wavered in her compassion for others. She continued to support her family and extend a helping hand to anyone in need.

She fiercely loved her family. She worried about them, rooted for them, protected them, resented them, forgave them, and always kept on loving them. Her family consisted of both blood ties and bonds formed from the heart.

Nadine never turned away someone in need and was a second mom to many. Her legacy is one of unyielding kindness and generosity. Even when she had little to spare, Nadine continued to give and help others. Even when sick or in pain, she never faltered in caring for her loved ones more than she did for herself.

Nadine was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael Duncan; an unborn child; and her grandparents, Mable and Everett Bates.

Nadine will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband of 18 years, Robert Ward; her mother, Sadie Taylor; father, Rickie Taylor; her four children, Jevetta (John) Ashby, Michael (Tina) Duncan, Richard Ward, and Lena Ward; two stepchildren, Jennifer Davis and Donna Southard; two grandchildren, Jesse-James Ashby and Jadelyn Ashby; nine step-grandchildren Shelby (Colin) Jones, Jason, Dominick, Jasmine, Madie, and Eli Davis, Sarah Grace (Lawson) Clayton, Luke (Sophia) Southard, and Issaac Southard; and seven great-grandchildren, Alec and Henry Jones, Blakely Widener, Waylon and Bryer Davis, Haven Roberts, and Beckett Clayton.

Visitation will be held at Danks Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 16 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Services will be held at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 1 p.m. Friends may visit at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
