FRANKLIN, Ky. — Susan Lynn Dortch, 69, of Franklin, passed away Nov. 23, 2025. She was born April 30, 1956, to the late Rev. Ernest and Rosie Lee Batts Howell.
Susan was a retired Postmaster. She enjoyed Lifetime movies and playing card games. She loved spending time with her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved singing gospel music and playing piano.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Howell; sister, Judy Blackwell; and brothers-in-law, Bill Henderson and Doug Blackwell.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Donald Dortch; daughter, Rosie Rister; her honorary daughter and care-giver, Ruth Miller; grandchildren, Kristina Miller (Cody), Samantha Pedigo (Tommy), Victoria Waller, Jesse Riser; two great-grandchildren, Elliott and Everly and one on the way; sisters, Dell Garner (Pender), Ernestine Henderson, Ruth Dark and Jane Howell.
Services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford, Kentucky.
