BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Cathy Jane Bandy Daugherty, 82, of Beaver Dam, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehab surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Sept. 19, 1942, in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, to the late James G. and Wanda Earl Walker Bandy.
Cathy was a member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ and retired from the Ohio County Board of Education where she was a bus driver 27 years. Cathy loved being with her family, she enjoyed quilting, fishing and camping. She adored all the students that ever rode on her bus.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Bandy and Larry Bandy.
She leaves behind to cherish many precious memories, her husband of 68 years, Jewel Daugherty, of Beaver Dam; two children, Jimmy W. (Sherry) Daugherty, of Beaver Dam, and Janet D. Coulter, of Hartford; two grandchildren, Amy Lynn (Mike) Hood, of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Aaron (Cassandra) Daugherty, of Beaver Dam; and five great-grandchildren, Carter Tierney, Amelia Hood, Olivia Hood, Kilee-Ann Daugherty, and Kaden Daugherty.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Jerid Gunter officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Friends may visit with Cathy’s family from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
