UTICA, Ky. — Joyce Ann Wilson, 87, of Utica, entered into her final reward on Dec. 20, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on June 11, 1937, to the late JW and Marie Marksberry Wilson. When she was 17, she married the love of her life, Raymond P. Wilson, and started their legacy of love.
Joyce was a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church for over 60 years. There she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, Bible school teacher and devoted saint.
Joyce was a stay-at-home mother and grandmother. She loved to garden, plant flowers and cook for her family. She made the best biscuits and corn. When you left her house you were never hungry and always got a hug and a kiss.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Raymond P. Wilson; daughter, Cathy Wilson; and brother, Charles Wilson.
Joyce and Raymond’s legacy of love continues with over four generations including their daughters, Vickie (Danny) Gray and Ramona (Jason) Folds; grandchildren, Nicholas Simpson (Brittany), Korey (Michael) Brown, Jennifer (Josh) Brown, Austin Folds, Dylan Folds, and Jackson (Eden) Folds; great-grandchildren, Cole Simpson, Allison (Chandler) Sumner, Logan Simpson, Alex Brown, Anna Brown, Brady Simpson, Isaac Brown, Andrew Brown, Avery Brown, Brylon Belcher, Eli Brown, Layla Belcher, Lydia Brown, Kaiden Folds, Easton Folds and Archer Folds; great-great-granddaughter, Emma Grayce Sumner; sister, Juanita (Lawrence) Dragoo; and brothers, Dave (Delene) Wilson and Leroy (Linda) Wilson.
Services will be Friday, Dec. 27, at 1 p.m. at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, with Bro. Storm Bratcher officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Owensboro, Kentucky.
