HARTFORD, Ky. — Rachel Lee Young Chinn, 94, of Hartford, died Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at her home. She was born Dec. 8, 1929, to the late Rev. James Elvis and Beatrice Harford Lee.
She had worked at G.E. in Owensboro, Kentucky, and later at Bob’s IGA in Hartford. She was a member of New Assembly Church in Hartford.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert Young; two sons, David Young and Ronnie Young; three sisters, Helen Hoover, Fannie Benton, and Dorothy Jean Lee Jordan; four brothers, C.A. Lee, James T. Lee, John D. Lee and Earl D. Lee; her second husband, Ray Chinn; and one stepson, Jeff Chinn.
Survivors include two sons, Roger Young (Rita), of Palmyra, Indiana, and Fred Young (Linda), of Whitesville, Kentucky; two daughters-in-law, Hilda Smith and Connie Young; and nine grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday, April 26, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, with Bro. Lealin Geary officiating. Burial will be in Sunnydale Cemetery near Dundee, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
