HORSE BRANCH, Ky. — Louis R. “Moe” Shepherd, 69, of Horse Branch, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Ohio County Healthcare. He was born on May 22, 1954, in Buncombe County, North Carolina, to the late Charles Boyd and Agnes Irene Wheeler Shepherd.
Moe worked as a carpenter.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Harris, and three brothers, Douglas Shepherd, Clyde Shepherd, and Harold “Red” Shepherd.
He leaves behind to cherish many memories, his daughters, Crystal (Aaron) Murphy, of Horse Branch, and Stephanie (Nick) Shepherd, of Horse Branch; one brother, Steve Shepherd, of Rutherfordton, North Carolina; and one sister, Louise (Johnny) Styles, of Rutherfordton. Moe was blessed with five grandchildren, Tristen, Kyleigh, Colton, McKenzie, and Gatlin.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Jimmy Dockery officiating. Burial will follow in Horse Branch General Baptist Church Cemetery in Horse Branch. Friends may visit with Moe’s family from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
