HARTFORD, Ky. — Kay Foster Smith, 82, of Hartford, died Wednesday, April 17, 2024, under the care of Hospice at The Heartford House. She was born Aug. 31, 1941, in Hopkins County, Kentucky.
She was a member of Hartford Christian Church in Hartford. She was a former pianist for 27 years at Second Baptist Church of Hartford and assistant treasurer for several years.
Mrs. Smith was a legal secretary in Madisonville and Hartford for many years. When she retired in 2000, she was chief secretary for the Child Support Office in Beaver Dam, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Smith, and her daughter, Cathy Moore.
She is survived by a son, Craig Smith (Shannon), and four grandchildren, Cameron Moore, Max Smith, Sam Smith, and Lucy Smith.
Per her request, a private service will be held.
The family requests that any expressions of sympathy take the form of a donation to St. Benedict’s Homeless Shelter at 1001 West 7th Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
