CROMWELL, Ky. — Laura Mae Beck, 89, of Cromwell, passed away Friday, April 5, 2024, at Signature of Hillcrest in Owensboro, Kentucky. She was born Sept. 16, 1934, in Cub Run, Kentucky to the late Louis Jaggers and Ollie Mae Dorsey Jaggers.
Before retirement Laura worked for Cowden’s and Kellwood. She loved dancing but most of all her children and grandchildren.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Newton Beck; infant daughter, Sheila Mae Beck; four brothers, Carlie Jaggers, John Jaggers, Clifton Jaggers, Marshall Jaggers; and sister, Lucille Hayes.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons, George W. (Joan) Beck, of Louisville, Kentucky, and Ricky L. (Teresa) Beck, of Cromwell; two daughters, Rita K. (Lyle) Belcher, of Cromwell, and Lavena B. Williams (Mike Sebonia), of Napierville, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Betty Shaver, Pastor Michael Decker, and Isaac Belcher officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Cromwell. Friends may visit with Laura’s family from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
