HORSE BRANCH, Ky. — Addie “Mae” Renfrow, 83, of Horse Branch, passed away Monday, March 11, 2024, with her family by her side at her home. She was born Dec. 13, 1940, in Grayson County, Kentucky, to the late William David Simpson and Lucille Young Simpson.

Mae worked at Cowden’s Sewing Factory and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Ray Renfrow; son-in-law, Freddie Hicks; two grandsons, Timmy Wayne Hicks and John Boy Michael Renfrow; and several siblings.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 67 years, JW Renfrow, of Horse Branch; three children, David Renfrow (Misty Embry), of Horse Branch, Pattie Hicks, of Horse Branch, and Rita Renfrow, of Horse Branch; seven grandchildren, Christopher Hicks, Jennifer Hicks, Ethan Renfrow, Anna Marie (Josh)Watson, Tara Beth Embry, Mark (Tabitha) Black and Jeremiah (Felicia) Renfrow; 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren and four siblings, Kenny (Martha) Simpson, of Hartford, Kentucky, WB Simpson, of Greenville, Kentucky, Phyllis Mudd, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, and Linda Ford, of Leitchfield, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Bro. Johnny Daugherty and Rev. Vandell Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in Leach Cemetery in Horse Branch. Friends may visit with Mae’s family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
