OWENSBORO, Ky. — Venita “Nene” Bratcher, 88, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at her home under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born on July 22, 1935, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Hershel and Elsie Bratcher.
She loved her time spent in Florida with her many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles (Buddy) Bratcher; and a daughter, Teresa Rice.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Debbie (Billy) Ward and Barbara “Bobo” Sowders; grandchildren, Anthony Sowders, Brandon Ward, Christy Sowders, Emily (Travis) Mayfield and Jessica Rice; great grandchildren, Kenzie Sowders, Addie Mayfield, Isaac Mayfield, Miranda Sowders, and Lilah Mayfield; siblings, Jody (Sherry) Bratcher, of Leitchfield, Kentucky, Brenda Shown, of Louisville, Kentucky, Stevie Bratcher, of Dundee, Kentucky, and Pam Bratcher, of Florida; and several loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 6 p.m. at Cecil Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Feb. 20, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
