BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Rev. Jesse L. Tichenor, 89, passed away on Friday, Feb. 16, 2024, at The Heartford House in Owensboro. He was born on Sept. 16, 1934, in Centertown, Kentucky, to the late William Elvis and Ertra Bishop Tichenor.
Bro. Jesse was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Had been a bi-vocational pastor in Ohio County, Kentucky, for 53 years. He served as pastor of Smallhous Baptist Church, Independence Baptist Church, Woodwards Valley Baptist Church, Cool Springs Baptist Church, and Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
Besides being a pastor he also taught in Ohio County Schools for 33 years. One of his favorite things was listening to Southern Gospel Music.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Baize Tichenor, on April 13, 2023.
Survivors include three daughters, Sheila (Darrell) Witten, Susan Tichenor, and Pam (Brad) Sisk; two grandchildren, Erin and Emily Sisk; brother, Carroll Tichenor; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Carroll Moseley officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
