Danny N. Crowe

In Obituaries by OC Monitor Staff

HARTFORD, Ky. — Danny N. Crowe, 85, of Hartford, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024, at Signature Healthcare in Hartford as he passed gently and swiftly. Danny Noel Crowe was born Aug. 31, 1938, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Charles Raymond and Martha Ray King Crowe and was married to the former Linda Merrill Daugherty on June 11, 1966.

Danny never hesitated to report for duty when called. Just over two weeks after receiving his induction order into the U. S. Army, he left his parents behind and entered the service of our country. He transferred skills he learned as a country-raised child to the Army, where he was distinguished as a sharpshooter and a jungle expert.

After returning home, he married and worked hard to provide for his wife and two sons. He shared his love of hunting, fishing, and farming with his children and later worked alongside them for Crowe Brothers Farm.

Danny was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and eventually retired to enjoy life with the single love of his life, Linda, spending time telling jokes and laughing with his family.

Memories of Danny will inevitably include his signature beard, his ever-present bib overalls, but mostly his devotion to his wife.

In addition to his parents, Danny’s wife of 56 years, Linda Crowe was called home to be with Jesus on Oct. 12, 2022.

Left to remember Danny are his two sons, Kenneth Crowe (Mandy), of Livermore, Kentucky, and Danny Crowe (Ashley), of Hartford; three grandchildren, Makenna Crowe, Lucas Crowe and Barrett Crowe; two brothers, Jim Crowe (Kathy), of Livia, Kentucky, and David Crowe (Janice), of Livermore; a sister, Sandra Bratcher, of Livermore; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel. Burial will be in the Taylor Mines Cemetery in Ohio County. Military Honors will be conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5415. Friends may visit with Danny’s family from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday at Musters in Livermore.

Danny’s services will be streamed live on musterfuneralhomes.com at 11 a.m. Saturday.
