OWENSBORO, Ky. — Patricia Juanita Proffitt, 80, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. The Ohio County, Kentucky, native was born July 23, 1943, to the late General Jackson “Pete” Goff and Carrie Mae Embry Goff.

In addition to her parents, Patricia also was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Kenneth Proffitt, in 2021; granddaughter, Stephanie Proffitt; and all her siblings, Earlene Pirtle, Everett, Reathel, Cecil Goff, and Marie Goff, who passed away at 10 years-old from polio.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Pamela Douglas and husband, Glen, who she thought of and treated as a son; seven grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Granna,” Samantha McGehee (Dylan), Aiden Douglas, Alisa Vanover (Steven), Misty, Chrissy, Jessica, and Matthew Douglas; 10 great-grandchildren, Haleigh Douglas, Kaleb, Ethan, Camden, Kyleigh, Kloey, Kairi, Annabelle, Raphael, and Lincoln; and numerous nieces and nephews.
