BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Robert Leon Waskom, 91, of Beaver Dam, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at his home. He was born in Owensburg, Indiana, to the late William and Elsie Rose Waskom.

Mr. Waskom was a retired teacher (director of math department) and retired parks superintendent in Chesterton, Indiana. He served in the U. S. Army and was a member of Hartford Christian Church. Mr. Waskom was a member of Calumet Lodge #379 F & AM, a member of Orak Shriners-Michigan City, Indiana, and a member of South Bend Scottish Rite.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Joy Bakeis; a daughter, Bobbie Hamill; five brothers, Earl, David, Donald, Fred, and George; four sisters, Wilma, Margaret, Gladys, and Mary.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Waskom and Tamara Truitt; a sister, Rosalee; five grandchildren, Jason (Erin) Jaques, Heather (Chris) Slade, Justin Owings, Clayton Owings, and Stephanie Taylor; and two great-grandsons, Cooper and Logan Jaques.

Services are 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Scott Parker officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until funeral time on Monday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 12 noon Monday at the funeral home.
