OWENSBORO, Ky. — Lois Christine Sauer, 96, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2023, at her daughter’s home in Philpot, Kentucky. She was born May 8, 1927, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Alfred and Estella Payton Blanchard.
Lois retired from General Electric and was a long-time member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church. She enjoyed Bunco nights with family, quilting, and playing bingo. She was an avid UK fan, loved playing slots, watching Wheel of Fortune, and spending time with family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Sauer; and a daughter, Marsha Boehm; a son, Riley Westerfield Jr.; and 12 brothers and 4 sisters.
Survivors include, her sister-in-law, Sister Mary Elizabeth Sauer; daughter-in-law, Linda Westerfield; three children, Edward Miller (Lisa), Jeff Miller, and Roxanna Kirk (Kevin); 10 grandchildren, Kathy Young (Rob), Holly Cavender, Amy Jacob (Michael), Lee Kirk (Katie), Katy Summer (Jacob), Courtney Allen (Matt), Collin Miller (Shelby), Kristen Miller, Kendall Miller, and Cody Miller; and eight great-grandchildren and 16 ½ great-great-grandchildren. Mammy was Mammy to everyone.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 6, at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday and from 9 a.m. until time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
