HARTFORD, Ky. — William E. “Bill” Brownd, 85, of Hartford, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023, at Signature Healthcare of Hartford. He was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, to the late Ira and Iva Brownd.
He was retired from construction and was an Army veteran. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Centertown Masonic Lodge #714, and Laborers Union #1392.
He was preceded also in death by brothers, Cecil Brownd and Marvin Brownd, and sisters, Mildred Nantz and Anna Phelps.
Survivors include his daughters, Lisa (Rod) Smith, of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Cheryl (Roy) Leath, of Portage, Indiana; grandchildren, Sean (Nina Terry) Leath, Zachary (Annie) Leath and Caitlin Wadas; great-grandchildren, Mackenzee, Melanie, Charlie, Everly; a great-granddaughter due in March; sister, June McBride, of Hartford; and his nephew who was his caretaker, Rudy (Robin) Phelps.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Geary Funeral Home with burial in McCord Cemetery in Olaton, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
